Membership Categories

Home Club Adult (18 years and over)

Home Club Adult members receive priority scheduling on the Club’s monthly test sessions at the Home Club member test fee rate, along with being able to compete in U.S. Figure Skating sanctioned competitions. Adult Home Club members can vote in the Club’s annual election and are eligible to hold Club Board positions and/or become US Figure Skating officials. They will also receive the bi-monthly magazine, “Skating”, from USFS.

Dues are $120.00, including US Figure Skating registration.

 Home Club Junior (under 18 years)

Home Club Junior members receive priority scheduling on the Club’s monthly test sessions at the Home Club member test fee rate, along with being able to compete in U.S. Figure Skating sanctioned competitions. Junior Home Club members cannot vote in the Club’s annual elections.  They can, however, hold a position on the Club’s Junior Council. They will also receive the bi-monthly magazine, “Skating”, from USFS.

Dues are $120.00, including US Figure Skating registration.

 Subsequent Home Club

Subsequent Home Club members are additional people applying for membership who live in the same household as a Home Club Adult or Home Club Junior member.  They receive the same benefits as an Adult or Junior member depending upon their age.  Eligible for bimonthly skating magazine with limit of 1 per household.

Dues are $75.00, including US Figure Skating registration.

Introductory

This is a one-time initial Club membership, which begins July 1, and is for skaters who may have been in group classes at Yerba Buena and want to add to their skating, and have never before been registered with USFS or the Learn to Skate program. This membership includes US Figure Skating registration and allows the member to receive Home Club member priority and member rates for taking U.S. Figure Skating tests, along with being able to compete in U.S. Figure Skating sanctioned competitions.  They will also receive the bi-monthly magazine, “Skating”, from USFS.  For subsequent membership years, Introductory members will renew at the Home Club member rate.

Dues are $60.00, including US Figure Skating registration.

Subsequent Introductory

Subsequent Introductory members are additional people applying for membership who live in the same household as an Introductory member, who may have been in group classes at Yerba Buena and want to add to their skating, and have never before been registered with USFS or the Learn to Skate program.  They receive the same benefits as an Introductory member.  For subsequent years, these members will renew at the Home Club member rate.

Dues are $45.00, including US Figure Skating registration.

Parent

For parents of Home Club Junior members. Parent membership includes U.S. Figure Skating registration and allows the parent to vote in Club elections on behalf of the minor skater. Parent membership is required if your child is a member of one of the Tremors and/ or San Francisco Ice Theatre teams.

Dues are $40.00 for each parent, including US Figure Skating registration.

Coach

For professional coaches only, this is a limited membership which does not allow the coach to vote in club elections, hold a Board position, to compete or take tests at the Home Club member rates. Coaches must be designated as a coach with USFS in order to join or renew under the Coach membership, and SCSF expects all coaches to be current with US Figure Skating’s coach compliance requirements, including SkateSafe/SafeSport training. They will also receive the bi-monthly magazine, “Skating”, from USFS.

Dues are $80.00, including US Figure Skating registration.

Collegiate

For Home Club members who are freshmen and attending college/university and is a 4-year membership that is automatically renewed which allows skaters to continue their skating careers by taking tests, competing in US Figure Skating competitions, and coaching students in basic skating rink-sponsored programs. They will also receive the bi-monthly magazine, “Skating”, from USFS.    A full course load and proof of enrollment/attendance is required.

Dues are $110.00, including US Figure Skating registration.

Alumni & Subsequent Alumni

For former SCSF Home Club Members (minimum of 3 years) who are no longer competing and wish to maintain their affiliation with SCSF.  Alumni members are granted the right to vote in club elections, take part in club functions and/or become a US Figure Skating official.  They may also take tests paying the Associate Member rate, but may not hold a position on the Board of Directors.  They will also receive the bi-monthly magazine, “Skating”, from USFS.

Dues are $75.00, including US Figure Skating registration, $60.00 for each subsequent family member.

Associate and Subsequent Associate

For skaters who are registered with U.S. Figure Skating through another club designated by the skater as their ‘home club’. Associate membership is required for participation as a team member of the Tremors and/or San Francisco Ice Theatre teams. Associate members receive priority at Club test sessions over non-Club members and must pay an additional Associate Member test fee.

Dues are $80.00, including US Figure Skating registration, $60.00 for each subsequent family member.

Midterm Transfer and Subsequent Midterm Transfer

Fee is $75.00 for the first family member, $65.00 for each subsequent family member.

Club Policy and SkateSafe

  1. All new or renewing memberships are subject to approval by the Club’s Board of Directors.
  2. All Club members must abide by the Club’s Code of Conduct.
  3. In addition, the Club supports the provisions of U.S. Figure Skating’s SkateSafe program, in compliance with the U.S. Olympic Committee, to ensure that all skaters, parents, coaches and officials have a safe and enjoyable skating environment.
